Two Guys on Politics podcast adds Facebook and Twitter accounts
The Town Guys on Politics podcast, which features commentary from former Congressman Bill Lipinski and former Chicago City Hall reporter Ray Hanania now has a Facebook and Twitter account.
Lipinski and Hanania co-host the podcast discussion each week on local, regional and national politics and present a perspective that reflects a “Reagan Democrats” orientation and also a strong concern for senior citizens (baby boomers).
Both Lipinski and Hanania believe more needs to be done to help Senior Citizens who are placed at the end of the line when it comes to government support, and attention.
“Bill has been in politics more than 47 years since first being elected to the Chicago City Council in 1974 to represent the 23rd Ward on Chicago’s Southwest Side as the alderman and then in 1983 was elected to the U.S. Congress,” Hanania said.
“I covered Chicago City Hall for about 18 years and I met Lipinski while I was working at the Southtown Economist newspapers first covering the local education beat and the political beat. Bill was a straight shooter who was honest and forthright and won the loyalty of the ward’s residents. He was also very respected by the City Hall reporters.”
Hanania said he and Lipinski try to add depth to the understanding of political developments and issues int he news whether it is local, regional or national. Recent podcasts have talked about crime, coronavirus, presidential politics, and the threats facing America from Russia and China.
“We present a perspective that represents the ‘Reagan Democrats,’ right leaning Democrats who believe in family values, freedom of religion and religious expression and most importantly support the concerns of senior citizens and those who are growing older,” Hanania said.
“Seniors are a very educated constituency and very engaged in local government. They are on top of issues but they often are marginalized or pandered to by government. They really deserve a stronger voice and I know Bill and I try to ensure they have one.
Hanania said the podcast has a strong base among seniors and individuals 30 years of age and older.
