Leving team won fight to keep little girl safe with dad, where she belongs
By Laura Reichel
A father’s main concern is the safety and well-being of his child. There is nothing more precious in life to a father than knowing that his child is safe, healthy, and happy.
Unfortunately for a Chicago father, his attempt to maintain a stable and loving environment for his daughter was derailed when his ex, taking advantage of dad’s kindness, reportedly pulled their daughter out of school and threatened to permanently take the young girl away from her father forever, and he’d never see her again.
Desperate to protect his daughter and scared of losing her, dad called attorney Jeffery Leving for help and that’s exactly what he received. The Leving legal team fought for dad and his little girl and won.
Chicago matrimonial attorney Jeffery Leving, President of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Dad has a seven-year-old daughter, whom he co-parented with his ex. The couple’s separation was volatile. Eventually, the mother moved out and dad and his little girl lived together in dad’s home. Despite the tension in his relationship with his ex, dad maintained an unofficial parenting schedule with his ex, going as far as giving her more time during the summer. However, he came to regret that decision after learning that his ex pulled their daughter out of her school and reportedly threatened to take his little girl away from him forever.
Terrified of losing his daughter, dad immediately called attorney Jeffery Leving for help. Attorney Leving assured this concerned father that the Leving legal team would fight for him and his daughter.
The Leving team immediately went to court and fiercely litigated on behalf of dad and his daughter. They argued that not only was dad her primary caretaker, but the little girl also had her own bedroom at her father’s home, a stable education, and a strong support network of friends and family in the community she lived in with her father.
By removing the child from her home and school, without dad’s knowledge, the mother had ripped the little girl from her safe environment into one where she was separated from her loving father and had no other support network to rely on. Additionally, the mother was reportedly sharing a living space with unknown and unrelated adults, whom dad and the little girl had never even met before.
The Leving team argued that this put dad’s daughter in a deadly situation, exposing her to many dangerous risks, including feared sexual abuse. The judge agreed with their arguments and ordered the mother to return the young girl to her father immediately and ordered her not to interfere in the child’s schooling without permission from the courts.
This was a crucial court victory, modified for publication, that helped protect dad’s daughter, her future, and the close bond between father and daughter.
Dad no longer fears for his daughter’s safety and the young girl no longer has to fear losing her father and her community. The little girl is now safe at home with her dad and back at her school and in her community, where she belongs.
