No injuries in Fire that destroyed Orland Park home
An Orland Park residential home sustained serious damage during a fire Sunday evening on Oct. 4, 2020. No one was injured. Attached are photos of the fire from the Orland Fire Protection District
The Orland Fire Protection District (OFPD) responded to a 911 Fire Emergency call at around 11:30 PM on Sunday (Oct. 4, 2020) at a residential home located at 15530 117th Court (at the north end of 117th Court on the west side of the street) in Orland Park.
Arriving crews faced heavy fire coming from a one-story frame residential property.
Fire crews responded quickly advanced a line to extinguish the fire, despite being in a rural, non-hydrant area. Mutual aid was also provided by fire companies from neighboring communities. The fire was quickly brought under control.
OFPD Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
No injuries were reported. Officials said the property is more than 100 years old and has been unoccupied for the past several months.
