Video Documentary: Mansour Tadros Coronavirus funeral March 31

Mansour Tadros died on March 28 as a result of the coronavirus and was buried in a “social distancing” funeral on March 31 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. This is a video of the funeral in which mourners were forced by social distancing requirements set by the nation and the State of Illinois to remain in their vehicles from Lawn Funeral Home in Tinley Park to the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Worth, Illinois.

By Ray Hanania

The passing on March 28,2020 of Mansour Tadros was a shock to the Arab American community.

Tadros was a popular newspaper publisher who lived in Tinley Park in Illinois. A Jordanian immigrant who came here at the age of 17 with his parents from their home in Na’ur, Jordan, a suburb of Amman, died from the coronavirus.

Tadros went to the hospital on Tuesday March 24 and was told on Wednesday to return home and self-quarantine. But on Saturday, March 28, Tadros began having severe difficulty breathing and died in the ambulance on the way back to the hospital.

The family was forced to adhere to social-distancing requirements imposed by the nation as a result of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic so there was no public wake or service. The public was able to attend the burial as long as they remained in their vehicles.

Here is video of that unusual coronavirus funeral that I took as a member of the funeral procession to document what happened.
