Al Cacciottolo to run for 13th Ward Alderman to succeed Ald. Marty Quinn
Lifelong Southwest Side Resident Seeks Ald. Quinn’s Open Seat
CHICAGO – Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch President Al Cacciottolo today announced his candidacy for 13th Ward alderman, replacing outgoing Ald. Marty Quinn, who has held the post since 2011.
A lifelong resident of the Southwest Side and board member of the Midway Chamber of Commerce, Cacciottolo is deeply involved in the community and ready to continue its growth.
Cacciottolo serves on the 8th District Council Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability. He is a proud Chicago Public Schools graduate and City of Chicago employee.
Cacciottolo previously served as head coach of the Kennedy High School baseball team and is an engaged member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Daniel the Prophet church.

“The 13th Ward is a wonderful home and I want it to be the best it can be,” Cacciottolo said. “I am invested in our community’s future and ensuring it remains a great place to live, work and raise a family. I’m ready for this next step and hope to earn the trust of my fellow residents.”
Quinn is endorsing Cacciottolo for the job, emphasizing his deep involvement in public safety and fostering business growth in the community.
“Al’s work leading the Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch and serving on the board of the Midway Chamber puts him in an excellent position to serve 13th Ward residents and businesses,” Quinn said. “Al knows the 13th Ward community inside and out and would make a great alderman who is focused on putting the needs of the residents first.”
Cacciottolo’s priorities include continuing the effort to create a new Southwest Side police district, supporting local business growth, demanding safe streets and parks and ensuring residents receive a superior level of constituent services.
Cacciottolo is currently gathering signatures to appear on the ballot for the city election that will be held Feb. 23, 2027.
