Leving Team Protected Young Boy from Reported Pipe-Wielding Mother at School

By Laura Reichel

Every child deserves to feel safe. But when dad’s young son was suddenly and allegedly placed in the middle of a frightening confrontation at his school, dad feared that his child’s safety, stability, and education were all at risk.

Dad called Attorney Jeffery Leving in a moment of great concern.

The Leving legal team moved quickly to protect his son and won.

Attorney Jeffery M. Leving will talk about this powerful court victory on his weekly radio show, the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. CDT Saturday, August 29th on Power 92.3 FM.

The show will be available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour Spotify page at dadsrights.com.

The child’s mother, a reportedly known drug user, allegedly arrived at the little boy’s school without warning and attempted to remove him from school. It was further reported that she barged into the school’s administrative office and began to create a scene, and the boy was pulled out of his classroom and brought to the school’s administrative office.  Once the child arrived, it was reported that the mother began threatening school officials to turn over her son to her.  The Leving legal team was informed that the mother pulled a footlong steel pipe from her coat and wielded it at school officials and her son, and it took three security guards to de-escalate the situation and remove the mother from the school’s grounds.

The school immediately contacted dad. Overwhelmed, frightened for his son, and desperate to ensure that this terrifying situation would not happen again, dad turned to Leving for help. The Leving litigation team devised an expert legal strategy to protect this little boy.

The Leving team didn’t wait for another incident to occur; they immediately filed an Emergency Petition for an Order of Protection. They had to move quickly to safeguard dad’s son, his education, and his right to go to school without fear. However, while the Leving team was immediately preparing this emergency case, the mother reportedly returned to the school and attempted to take the child again.

The Leving litigation team argued to the court that immediate action was necessary to protect this young boy. The judge recognized the urgency of the situation and ruled in dad’s favor. The judge granted dad an Order of Protection prohibiting the mother from having any contact with dad and his son and further prohibited her from returning to the son’s school. Now, dad can rest easier knowing that his son is protected. This young boy was able to return to school and continue his education with the security, consistency, and peace of mind that every child deserves.

This court victory modified for publication is a powerful and emotional victory for this father who acted quickly to protect his son. Without immediate legal action, dad’s son could have remained vulnerable to frightening and threatening incidents at school. This case is a reminder that every child deserves to learn in a safe and stable environment.

Matrimonial Attorney Jeffery M. Leving is the recipient of the U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the President of the United States in recognition of his 7,500 hours of service to this great nation. Leving co-authored the foundational Illinois joint custody law and has dedicated his career to safeguarding children and reuniting them with their fathers.
