Kudos to the Griffins at Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort on their championship win yesterday against Loyola (Wilmette) and also ending the season with a 14-0 record.
The 23-14 win wasn’t easy for Lincoln-Way as both schools had a strong defense at the title game held at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
Dominic Dzioban’s 4th quarter field goal put L-W East up 16-14 with a few minutes remaining. Max Cesario intercepted Quinn Boyle on Loyola’s run and A.J. Henning (Sophomore) helped ensure a Lincoln-Way victory with a 42-yard touchdown run.
A victory parade is being held this morning in Frankfort along with a trophy presentation.
