The Financially-struggling Retailer to also close 64 Kmart stores.

The Sears store located at Orland Square Mall is among 39 Sears stores scheduled to close by early April 2018.
Sears Holdings, which is the parent company of Sears and Kmart, notified their employees that it will be closing it’s doors. The retailer will also close 64 of it’s Kmart stores as well.
The company said in a statement that they will close unprofitable stores as they transform their business model.
As for the future of the Orland Park space, Seritage Growth Properties which owns the Orland Park Sears store stated it entered into a lease agreement with AMC Theatres to take over the upper level for a 10 screen theater.
