Bridgeview police search for armed suspect
Suspect sought in Bridgeview assault. On Aug 17, 2017 at approximately 11:05 AM, Officers of the Bridgeview Police Department responded to an armed robbery, which had just occurred at the Salvation Army store located at 9000 S. Harlem Ave, Bridgeview, Illinois.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 31-year-old female victim [name withheld] who said she was exiting her vehicle in the north parking lot of the Salvation Army when she was approached by a male Hispanic subject who shoved her in her shoulder area while displaying a black handgun demanding cash from the victim.
The victim in this incident was not injured.
The offender is described by the victim as a male Hispanic in his late 30’s with a shorter build, chubby wearing a cap, blue shirt with strips and black pants.
Police officers at the scene obtained information that the male subject ran from the north parking lot of the Salvation Army eastward across Harlem Ave into a 3-story multi-unit apartment building in the 9000 block of Harlem Ave in Bridgeview.
Officers from the Bridgeview Police Department along with Officers from neighboring communities assisted in setting up a perimeter around the building while members of 5th District Swat Team arrived on scene.
A search of the interior of the apartment building for the offender in the armed robbery was conducted by the Swat Team. The male subject involved in this incident was not located in this apartment building.
The surrounding neighborhood was canvassed for the offender, being unable to locate him.
The investigation into this incident continues in an attempt to locate the subject involved in this armed robbery.
