Orland firefighter suffers minor injuries in responding to home fire
Orland Fire Protection District, IL – One firefighter with the Orland Fire Protection District suffered minor injuries but was treated and released after battling a home fire in Orland Park Tuesday (09-23-25) afternoon.
Emergency calls identified heavy smoke billowing from a two-story residential home with a walk-out basement, located at the 11500 Block of 113th Avenue in Orland Park.
Upon arrival, firefighters upgraded the alarm. Several additional engines and battalions were dispatched to the fire along with Ambulance 3 to support the first arriving teams.
Firefighters searched the home and found it clear of all occupants. The fire was quickly extinguished with minimal damage.

The property homeowner has been temporarily displaced as a result of the fire damage.
OFPD officials reported one firefighter suffered minor injuries and was treated but released from medical care in good condition.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined and is under investigation.
The OFPD was assisted by Homer Fire, Tinley Fire, and Palos Fire Protection Districts.
Mutual aid fire departments also provided station coverage while several Orland Fire crews were committed to the scene.
