Leving Team Restored Dad’s Place in Daughters’ Lives and Saved Him from Jail
By Laura Reichel
The Leving team secured a hard-fought court victory for a devoted dad who risked losing his freedom to fight for his two daughters after his ex filed a Petition for an Order of Protection against him. Desperate but unwilling to give up, dad called for help.
The Leving team fought for them and won.
The judge ordered the Petition struck and granted dad significant court ordered parenting time with his girls. Dad was relieved – he didn’t lose his girls, and he no longer has to fear being jailed.
Chicago based matrimonial Attorney Jeffery Leving, President of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd., will talk about this important court victory on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CDT Saturday, June 6th on Power 92.3 FM.

This show segment will be available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour’s Spotify page on dadsrights.com. Listen to Leving’s radio show and follow his fight for fathers and children everywhere and connect with him on Instagram @dadsrights.
Dad was desperate. The mother reportedly refused to allow dad to see his children and she filed a Petition for Order of Protection accusing him of harassment and endangering the children. It was further reported that she filed false reports against dad with the Department of Children and Family Services. These allegations threatened dad’s future with his children and his freedom, as violating an Order of Protection is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to 1 year in jail in Illinois. If the Petition was granted and dad attempted to even contact his children, he could lose his children, his freedom, and his future.
Attorney Leving assured dad that the Leving team would fight to protect him and his children and they did. They fiercely litigated the case to victory.
The Leving team immediately went to court, determined to preserve dad’s relationship with his daughters and protect him from incarceration. They argued to the court that dad has supported his daughters financially and emotionally and separating the children from him could have dangerous consequences for the young girls’ mental and emotional health. They won. The judge struck the mother’s Petition for an Order of Protection against dad and granted him significant parenting time with his daughters.
This court victory modified for publication was about more than just parenting time. It was about protecting these little girls and preventing dad from facing incarceration just for wanting to be there for his children. Thanks to dad’s determination, these girls will grow up with their father in their lives.
Matrimonial Attorney Jeffery M. Leving is the recipient of the U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the President of the United States in recognition of his 7,500 hours of service to this great nation. Leving co-authored the foundational Illinois joint custody law and has dedicated his career to safeguarding children and reuniting them with their fathers.
