Vice President Patricia Theresa Flynn re-elected leadership position at MWRD

MWRD Vice President Patricia Theresa Flynn, President Kari K. Steele and Chairman of Finance Marcelino Garcia were elected by their peers on the Board of Commissioners to serve as officers.

On January 9th the Board of Commissioners for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) has selected three of their colleagues to continue serving in key leadership roles. President Kari K. Steele was re-elected as president for a fourth term, Vice President Patricia Theresa Flynn was chosen for a second term as vice president, and Chairman of Finance Marcelino Garcia was re-elected by his peers to a third term.

Vice President Flynn, who first joined the Board of Commissioners in 2022, was initially nominated and elected as vice president in June 2023. Her second term was secured after being nominated by Commissioner Yumeka Brown and seconded by Commissioner Precious Brady-Davis.

“Although our votes count all the same across the Board and we work collaboratively, I am incredibly grateful to serve as vice president and so proud of the work we have accomplished to date protecting our water environment,” said Vice President Flynn.

“Thank you to the Board of Commissioners for placing me in this important role of leadership at the MWRD and to the residents across Cook County who rely on our essential services each day.”
