Highway Commissioner Rubino Supports Cell Phone For Seniors Program
Highway Department to be a collection site
Do you have an old cell phone that sits in a drawer in your kitchen or on a shelf in your closet at home? Then it is time to clear the clutter and head to the Highway Department.
Highway Commissioner Antonio Rubino supports the Cook County Sheriff’s Office Cell Phone for Seniors Program.
This program through the Cook County Sheriff allows seniors to receive a free 911 emergency cellular phone.
Residents can bring old, unused cell phones to the Orland Township Highway Department Monday through Friday, 7am to 4:30pm.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office will pick up the cell phone collection box once a month and ensure the cell phones are given to seniors in need.
“I am happy to offer the Highway Department as a collection site for this very important program and encourage residents to bring their old cell phones to our collection site.” Said Commissioner Antonio Rubino.
“This program will help with the safety and well-being of our senior community.”
