McLaughlin responds to false claims from Pekau

Dan McLaughlin Calls Out His Opponent’s Continued Partisan Games, Pledges to Host Regular Office Hours to Talk to the Community. As Mayor Pekau continues to play partisan games and waste taxpayer time on discredited political attacks, candidate Dan McLaughlin reaffirms his commitment to get to work for Orland Park, including hosting a second round of virtual Office Hours tonight on Facebook Live.

As Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau continues to use taxpayer time and resources to wage partisan political attacks, including furthering a sham investigation into a made-up scandal of his own creation, candidate Dan McLaughlin is calling out the political games.

“It’s disappointing to see Mayor Pekau continue to waste taxpayer time spreading discredited phony political investigations. It’s a petty distraction and a disservice to our voters,” McLaughlin said.

“Rather than addressing real and pressing questions from residents about issues like the mayor’s inconsistent mask policy and his wasteful, frivolous lawsuit against the state, Mayor Pekau is once again choosing to play politics to avoid talking to the community about the issues that affect their everyday lives.”

Former Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin

In a demonstration of his dedication to listening to residents and getting to work for them, McLaughlin pledged to host a series of virtual “Office Hours” to answer questions from Orland Park residents.

He will be hosting the second round of Office Hours on Facebook Live tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. on his Facebook page to address additional questions from last week’s Chamber of Commerce Town Hall, inquiries he’s received from residents, and additional questions submitted live during the event.

“Time and time again, across Orland Park, I hear the same thing from our residents — we’ve got to get back to a time when leaders listened to our concerns,” McLaughlin said.

“I aim to be a mayor who works for the people and with the people, and that starts with being an open book. These office hours are a great opportunity to answer questions from the community about the real issues, and my door is always open to address your questions so we can get back to doing the real job of moving our village forward.”
