Senator Cory Booker Endorses Robin Kelly for U.S. Senate

CHICAGO – U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) today announced he is endorsing Robin Kelly for the U.S. Senate, citing Kelly’s exceptional leadership, proven track record of delivering for Illinois families, and their dedicated partnership tackling gun violence.

Kelly’s campaign continues to build momentum with Booker’s endorsement, drawing support from a diverse coalition of national and local leaders who recognize her effectiveness and dedication to progressive policy.

Booker, a leading voice on criminal justice reform and gun safety, expressed his gratitude for their shared commitment to critical gun violence prevention and gave his full support for Kelly’s bid for the U.S. Senate seat.

“Robin Kelly is a leader who gets things done, which is why Illinois—and the nation—needs her voice in the Senate,” Booker said.

“Her commitment to Illinois is evident in her proven legislative track record and her success standing up to special interests like the NRA. Robin has shown unwavering courage in tackling gun violence and I’m honored to partner with her on this important and lifesaving work. Robin is the kind of fighter we need in the Senate, and I know she will  stand up to help defend our democracy and our country from unconstitutional attacks in this moment of crisis. I’m proud to endorse Robin and excited to continue or work together.”

“Senator Cory Booker is a powerful and principled voice in the Senate, and I am honored to have his support,” Kelly said.

“We share a commitment to fighting for social justice, economic opportunity, and ending senseless gun violence in our communities. Senator Booker’s endorsement reinforces my resolve to reach voters across Illinois about the urgent need to send a proven leader to the Senate who will deliver results for working families.”

Booker’s endorsement adds to growing support of Kelly’s bid for the U.S. Senate, including: U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, renowned Chicago activist Father Michael Pfleger, Brady PAC, the nation’s oldest gun violence prevention organization; leaders in the gun violence prevention community; members of Congress, including members of the Congressional Black Caucus; the Congressional Black Caucus PAC; Elect Democratic Women, the only member-led political action committee dedicated to increasing the number of women in Congress; Jotaka Eaddy, founder of Win with Black Women and a nationally renowned business executive, social impact strategist, and investor; nearly 70 members of the state’s LGBTQIA+ community, Kankakee Friends of Labor, The Justice Coalition, Illinois Muslim Action Network, Coalition Activate, Northern Illinois American Muslim Alliance, and local leaders across Illinois.
