Village of Orland Park to Host Annual Veterans Golf Classic

Event to be held August 26 at Silver Lake Country Club, 9:30 a.m. shotgun start

Registration is now open for the 2025 Veterans Golf Classic, hosted by the Village of Orland Park. Scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, at Silver Lake Country Club located at 14700 S. 82nd Avenue, the event will honor and benefit area veterans.  
 
This annual event serves as the primary fundraiser for the Orland Park Veterans Commission, supporting a variety of local veterans’ organizations and services. is limited to 144 golfers on a first-come, first-served basis. 

“The Village of Orland Park Mayor’s Golf Outing is deeply rooted tradition, and as we gather this year to benefit Orland Park area veterans at the Orland Park Veterans Golf Classic, I am filled with a profound sense of pride and gratitude,” said Mayor Jim Dodge.

“This is not just an opportunity for friendly competition and camaraderie; it is a celebration of the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to the service of our country. As a veteran myself, I am honored to host this event and contribute to initiatives that benefit our veterans’ services.”

The tournament will feature a shotgun start in a best-ball format, beginning with a continental breakfast. Participants can also look forward to an on-course lunch as well as a cocktail reception and dinner. 
 
The $175 per person golf and dinner package includes: 18 holes of golf, on-course games (excluding the par-3 holes), a shared golf cart, continental breakfast, on-course lunch and beverages, a pre-dinner open bar, dinner, and a golfer’s gift. 

Golf-only packages for the event are priced at $145 per person. Each package includes 18 holes of golf, on-course games (excluding par-3 holes), a shared golf cart, continental breakfast, on-course lunch, and beverages served on the course, as well as a golfer’s gift. 
 
Dinner-only tickets are available for $50, which includes access to the pre-dinner open bar and dinner service. An additional $50 on-course games package can be purchased, featuring four betting hole games. 
 
Sponsorship opportunities are available and include options for hole sponsors, cocktail hour sponsors, lunch sponsors, grand prize sponsors, and one presenting sponsor. 
 
Proceeds from the outing will benefit the Orland Park Veterans Commission, American Legion Orland Memorial Post 111, Reber-Tesmond Orland-Palos Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2604, Veterans Voices, and various area veterans and active-duty military organizations. 

“We invite everyone to enjoy a day of golf for a great cause,” said Mayor Dodge. “The Orland Park community has consistently come together to support our veterans and the organizations dedicated to assisting them.” 
 
The registration deadline is August 22. Participants are encouraged to register early, as foursomes tend to fill up quickly. To register, please visit orlandpark.org/golf.
