Dad and son reunited after Leving team’s hard-fought court victory
By Laura Reichel
The bond between a father and his child is fundamental. It shapes their lives, nurtures confidence, and provides the stability every child deserves.
Most dads want nothing more than to love, protect, and be present for their kids—through every scraped knee, every bedtime story, every milestone. But sometimes, that connection can be threatened.
This was the reality for one devoted dad, whose world came crashing down when his relationship with his five-year-old son was suddenly—and unfairly—cut short in the middle of a bitter divorce.
Desperate, dad turned to the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, Ltd. for help in reuniting with his little boy and protecting himself from false allegations. The Leving team fought for them and won – reuniting both father and son at last.
Chicago matrimonial attorney Jeffery Leving, President of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Dad has a strong bond with his five-year-old son. When his relationship with his child’s mother fell apart, dad’s peaceful world turned into a nightmare. In the middle of a bitter custody battle, his ex blindsided him with an emergency order of protection. Her accusations were false—but devastating. She painted dad as a danger to his own child.
Fearing that his ex sought to alienate him from his son to win custody, dad frantically called attorney Jeffery Leving for help. He was terrified of losing his little boy forever. He feared going to jail. Leving assured dad that our expert legal team would fight to protect them both.
In court, the Leving legal team stood firm for dad and his son. They refuted every false accusation against dad and demonstrated the lack of evidence supporting these claims. The Leving team argued to the court that dad is a loving, caring, and supportive parent to his son and that the child shouldn’t be separated from his father just because the parents’ relationship deteriorated. They won. The judge agreed with their arguments and removed the child from the order of protection. The judge also granted dad a generous parenting time schedule.
This hard-fought victory, modified for publication, reunited a loving father with his little boy and gave dad the protection of court ordered parenting time. Dad can now be with his son without fear of losing him and jail time knowing he has the protection of a court order. His nightmare is over.
Matrimonial attorney Jeffery M. Leving is the recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the President of the United States in recognition of 7,500 hours of service to this nation. In addition, the Illinois House of Representatives has honored Leving “for his work in safeguarding the rights of fathers and protecting the welfare of children and families in this State,” and the Illinois Senate issued a proclamation recognizing his efforts on behalf of fathers.
