Bernie Sanders’ Fighting Oligarchy Tour Announces New Stops in Western U.S. 

Neil Young, Maggie Rogers, and Joan Baez to Headline Los Angeles Rally

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today announced new stops on the fourth swing of his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, which kicks off next weekend. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) will join the senator for all three California events.

The first rally, in L.A.’s Grand Park, will feature performances by Neil Young, Maggie Rogers, Joan Baez, Indigo de Souza, Jeff Rosenstock, The Red Pears, and the Raise Gospel Choir. Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) will also make special appearances.

From Los Angeles, Bernie will take off on a five-day tour across four states, touching down in Utah, Idaho, and Montana, where he will be joined by International President of AFA-CWA Sara Nelson.

The swing specifically targets contested and Republican-held districts, making stops in areas where Democrats rarely campaign.

Sanders said: “The American people, whether they are Democrats, Republicans or Independents, do not want billionaires to control our government or buy our elections. They do not want Republicans to decimate Social Security and the Veterans Administration.  They do not want huge tax breaks for the wealthiest people in the country paid for by massive cuts to Medicaid and other programs that working families rely on. That is why I will be visiting Republican-held districts all over the Western United States.  When we are organized and fight back, we can defeat oligarchy.”To date, the Fighting Oligarchy tour has drawn 107,981 people across seven states. The most recent leg of the tour attracted historic crowds, setting the record for biggest-ever political rally in Arizona and bringing more than 34,000 people out in Denver, Colorado — the biggest crowd Sanders has ever attracted. Livestreams of the tour have been watched more than 5 million times.

Location: Gloria Molina Grand Park, Entrance at 137 N Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90012 Information for the Public: Doors open at 9:00 a.m. PDT. Please note: no bags, signs, or firearms are allowed. This event will be outdoors. Attendees are encouraged to take public transit, ride-shares and/or car pool. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is encouraged.

Sunday, April 13
6:00 p.m. MDT Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here with Bernie Sanders in Salt Lake City 
Location: Jon M. Huntsman Center, University of Utah, 1875 E. South Campus Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84112-0320
Information for the Public: Doors open at 3:30 p.m. MDT. Free parking is available around campus; UTA and TRAX stops are available directly outside the arena. Please note: no bags, no signs, and no firearms are allowed. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is encouraged.

Location: Dignity Health Arena, Theater and Convention Center, 1001 Truxtun Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93301 
Information for the public: Doors open at 10:30 a.m. PDT. Free, on-site parking is available on a first come first serve basis, and is located off of N Street between Truxtun Avenue and California Avenue. Please note: no bags, no signs, and no firearms are allowed. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is encouraged.

6:00 p.m. PDT Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here with Bernie and AOC in Auburn
Location: Gold Country Fairgrounds and Event Center, 209 Fairgate Road, Auburn, CA 95603 
Information for the public: Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Free parking in the Sacramento Street Parking Lot on a first come first serve basis. Street parking available in the surrounding area. Attendees are encouraged to take ride-shares and carpool if possible. Please note: no bags, no signs, and no firearms are allowed. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is encouraged.

Location: Adams Center, University of Montana, 32 Campus Dr, Missoula, MT 59812
Information for the public: Doors open at 10:30 a.m. MDT. Parking is available on campus for a fee. Attendees are strongly encouraged to use mass transit, rideshares, or carpool. The nearest parking for events at the Adams Center are Lots P, Z, M & M1. Please note: no bags, no signs, and no firearms are allowed. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is encouraged.
