Will Moses ever come down from the mountain top and save America?

By Ray Hanania

America is in a mess. Americans don’t realize they are the frog in the pot of water that is slowly rising to a boil. By the time it happens, it will be too late.

Former President Trump has some good ideas, but he can’t stop himself from lashing out whenever the biased news media insults him. He is easily distracted, focusing all his energies attacking his critics, rather than strengthening his ideas.

President Joe Biden can’t seem to handle the job either. Clearly, the Biden administration is run by his far leftwing aides, although deep down I think Biden is a genuine person who would do the right thing, if he were 20 years younger.

His biggest failure is his weak response to Russia’s aggressive rhetoric. War criminal tyrant Vladimir Putin was quick to recognize Biden’s America will do little to stand up to his war crimes in Ukraine, intentionally targeting civilians in his drive to expand his empire of evil.

We needed a tough-talking president to scare the bejesus out of Putin, that’s not what we got. Believe me, Trump would have been no better.

Worse is Biden’s efforts to protect his corrupt son, Hunter and block investigations into Hunter’s numerous efforts to exploit his father’s political clout in exchange for millions in foreign contracts.

So where does that leave us?

We are all up a bad creek.

The alternatives just don’t come close to bringing the two Americas back together. America is divided between the Far Right and the Far Left. The sane people with commonsense cowering in the middle of this polarized fight have no place to go, except towards one of the two extremes.

I had high hopes for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the son of the late assassinated Senator. The Kennedy’s symbolized so much for my generation, and yet he lacks the charisma and can’t inspire a nation badly in need of inspiration.

Kennedy’s attacks against Ukraine, while silent on the horrendous Russian massacres of Ukrainian civilians, exposes his weaknesses.

As for Ron DeSantis and Kevin McCarthy, neither has the talent or fresh ideas to lead America towards unity. They lack the ability to bring the nation back to the center. All they seem to be able to do is pander to their blind followers. And that’s not to say that the blindness is only on the Right. The left is just as bad.

The world is collapsing around us and we are being led by fools. Yet many people are buried so deep into the disease of polarization — which is worse than Corona Virus — they can’t see our nation collapsing as the forces of evil take advantage of our weaknesses around the world.

America needs someone strong who can stand up with confidence on the Right of the Left, and on the Left of the Right, who can appeal to a commonsense centrist political reason.

Can West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin be the answer? He could be, but he hasn’t yet taken the destructive boiling water of American society seriously enough to mount a formal campaign. What’s taking him so long?

There is a middle ground, people. It’s right in front of our eyes. But we are distracted by purveyors of hate by sadistic entertainers like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert. Their partisan bullying is more than just boring. It is destructive. Their name calling and humorless jokes fuel disdain for ourselves.

The mainstream news media is complicit in undermining our country. Instead of being objective, they stand on partisan spin exaggerating criticism of their political foes while closing their eyes to the weaknesses of those they support.

The media is fueling the growing polarized hatred, the lies, and viciousness that is widening the American divide and weakening this nation.

Americans are dancing around the Golden Calf and don’t care that Moses hasn’t come down from the mountain. We are blind with anger and driven by rage, hating on the other and not seeing our own problems.

If you haven’t noticed yet, the world is aligning against us. We can’t curtail illegal immigration, control rising inflation or skyrocketing costs, and we are incapable of treating everyone the same, favoring people based on skin color we like or hate. That racism is coming from every side, not just one.

Crime is on a rampage and instead of being an issue of justice and protecting the innocent, it has been flipped into a political conflict where the criminals are the “victims” and the victims” are the punished.

Moses, if you ever plan to come down from the Mountain Top, now would be a good time.
