Lipinski introduces bill to end prescription price gouging
Lipinski Introduces Legislation to End Price Gouging on Life-Sustaining Prescription Drugs
Congressman Lipinski speaks on the House floor on H.R. 5039, his legislation
to end price gouging on life-sustaining prescription drugs for seniors.
As seen in The Hill
Congressman Lipinski recently introduced the Life-Sustaining Prescription Drug Relief Act of 2019 (H.R. 5039) to lower the cost of life-sustaining prescription drugs for seniors and others on Medicare. Examples of life-sustaining drugs include cancer chemotherapy drugs, epinephrine injectors to reverse life-threatening allergic reactions, emergency inhalers to reverse asthma attacks, and diabetes control medications like insulin.
“As someone who’s been an insulin-dependent diabetic for 30 years, I’m intimately familiar with how much the price of this life-sustaining drug has skyrocketed in recent years. What these drug companies are allowed to get away with is unconscionable. Passing this bill could save patients’ lives and save hundreds of millions of dollars.”

That is why I introduced legislation that will control the costs of life-saving medications like chemotherapy drugs, anti-seizure medications, and insulin.
I know that this bill will save people’s lives – that’s why I’m set on getting this legislation passed. But I need to know if my supporters stand with me. Sign on to stand with me in support of controlling the costs of life-saving prescription medications!
I’ve met with countless citizens who are devastated by the exorbitant costs of life-saving medications.
Bottom Line: Drug companies should not be able to price-gouge hard-working people.
