Video Interview with veteran journalist Bruce DuMont

Bruce DuMont was hooked by broadcast journalism when he was just 10 years old. His uncle Allen B. DuMont founded the DuMont Television Network and in 1968 became a producer for WGN 720 AM Radio.

DuMont quickly rose to become a well known TV and radio commentator and talkshow host focused on American politics, based out of studios in Illinois.

In 1980 he launched his own radio show and today hosts the nationally syndicated live radio program “Beyond the Beltway” which is broadcast every Sunday from studios in the Museum of Broadcast Communications which he founded in 1982 and heads as President.

I spoke with Mr. DuMont about his career and interests in this one-on-one interview following the close of his syndicated radio show Beyond the Beltway on Sunday Dec. 10, 2017. I also toured the Museum of Broadcast Communications which offers one of the most fascinating looks at the history of American Television in the country.
