Illinois State Fair announces Edge-of-Your-Seat entertainment lineup in The Arena

From thrilling competitions to family-friendly entertainment, the Arena will once again be the site of some of the Illinois State Fair’s most popular events in 2026.
“We are excited to once again offer a diverse lineup of family-friendly entertainment that will keep fairgoers of all ages coming back to this outdoor arena throughout the Illinois State Fair,” said Jerry Costello II, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
On August 13-14, fairgoers will be treated to a full slate of events with Rodeo Nights presented by Wooten Rodeo Co.
Attendees will enjoy nine edge-of-your-seat activities each night including: Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, Tie Down Roping, Over 40 Tie Down Roping, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, Steer Wrestling and Barrel Racing. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.

The excitement continues as the Illinois Tractor Pulling Association (ITPA) returns August 17-19. Join us for three nights of non-stop action, where the roar of engines and the spirit of competition dominate The Arena as these massive machines compete to pull the farthest.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
Monsters of Destruction take over The Arena Friday, August 21 with an all-out monster truck show featuring exhilarating truck battles. The adventure doesn’t end there. Experience a thrill like no other when you climb onboard a real monster truck.
Advanced tickets to Monsters of Destruction are $25 for adults and $20 for kids 12 and under. Day of the events tickets are $30 for adults and $23 for kids 12 and under. Monster truck rides will be available during the pit pass party, intermission and after the show. Ticket upgrades for this one-of-a-kind experience ride will be offered the day of the event.
Come out and enjoy the destruction at the Demolition Derby on Saturday, August 22 as these skilled drivers smash and crash into one another until only one remains to earn the title of Illinois State Fair Demolition Derby Champion. Fairgoers can expect an adrenaline-pumping night of entertainment as drivers compete in the ultimate test of durability and strategy. Tickets are $25 for adults, and $5 for kids 12 and under.
“The Arena is home to some of the Illinois State Fair’s most exciting entertainment, bringing families back year after year,” said Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair Manager. “We encourage everyone to get their tickets ahead of time so they can skip the wait and enjoy every exciting moment.”
Tickets for all events are on sale now at Ticketmaster. Visit https://statefair.illinois.gov/entertainment/arena.html for ticket prices and ticket information.
As part of the Double the Fun promotion, anyone who pays to park on the grounds on Thursday, August 13, will be able to redeem their parking pass for free parking on one return trip to the fair on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Route 66 Centennial Celebrations
The Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield are on the historic path of Route 66, providing a front-row seat to the 100th anniversary celebrations happening all year. In recognition of a century of Route 66, a road that started in Illinois and helped shape America, Miles of Smiles is the 2026 Illinois State Fair theme. Because that’s what this road and the Illinois State Fair have always delivered. Miles of memories, miles of music, and miles of smiles shared right here in the heart of Illinois. Now through August 20, visitors to the Illinois State Museum’s “Miles of Memories: Stories of Route 66” exhibit can receive a voucher for one adult weekday admission to the Illinois State Fair. Learn more about Route 66 celebrations here.
