Leving Team Court Victory Gave a Little Girl the Gift of a Lifetime – Her Father

By Laura Reichel

When a father loses precious time with his child, every day apart feels endless. Dad, who had been embroiled in a bitter and complicated divorce, was desperate to be with his daughter.

He turned to attorney Jeffery Leving for help in reuniting him with his daughter.

The Leving legal team reunited them just in time for them to celebrate the little girl’s birthday together.

Chicago based matrimonial attorney Jeffery Leving, President of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd., will talk about this important court victory on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CST Saturday, January 31st on Power 92.3 FM.

Dad was desperate – he hadn’t seen his daughter for many, many months. During the divorce, dad’s ex accused him of being physically aggressive and unable to control his anger, which he adamantly denied. Dad refused to give up hope, and the court granted dad parenting time so he wouldn’t lose his daughter.

However, after the divorce was finalized, it was reported that dad’s ex cut him out of his daughter’s life. Dad was distraught and his daughter’s birthday was approaching and he had planned a trip with her to celebrate, but he reported that his ex refused to allow him to see the little girl, going as far as getting an Order of Protection against him – claiming he was a danger to his own daughter. This was very serious as violating an Order of Protection is punishable by up to one year in jail.

The Leving legal team prepared to go to court to fight for dad’s parenting time and vacate the Order of Protection. The clock was ticking, and his daughter’s birthday was just a few days away. They developed a legal strategy to obtain an emergency court hearing to fight to regain dad’s parenting time and vacate the Order of Protection.

Thanks to the tough legal work of the Leving legal team – which battled against a strongly resisting adverse party – a court order was secured removing the Order of Protection, reinstating dad’s parenting time, and ordering his ex to allow dad to see his daughter, all on the day before dad and his daughter were scheduled to reunite and depart for their birthday trip. After not seeing his daughter for much too long a time, dad was reunited with his daughter and was able to be with his daughter and take her on a wonderful trip to celebrate the little girl’s birthday.

This is a great victory modified for publication for this dedicated father who loves his daughter very much. The Leving legal team won for their client and his daughter, and his right to parenting time is now restored and secured.

Matrimonial attorney Jeffery M. Leving is the recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe R. Biden, Jr. in recognition of 7,500 hours of Leving’s service to this nation. Leving is also the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President George W. Bush. Leving is a nationally recognized matrimonial and family law attorney.
