Right from the Middle: Both candidates for President are lacking

By Bill Lipinski

How did our Land of Liberty and Fortress of Free, the most generous, most helpful nation on earth.

America is the greatest spreader and defender of freedom and democracy in the history of this world. The economic and military power houses of this plant. The premier leader in innovation, education, entrepreneurship on this globe. The leader in cultural influence, philanthropy, and volunteerism on GOD’s good earth. The foremost discoverer of scientific and medical verified information.

Permit our two major political parties to present very challenged, flawed presidential candidates.

There are over three hundred million people in this republic, and this is the best we can do?

Let us examine President Biden first. More than 77% of American polled believe he is too old for a second term. Only twenty eight percent believe Biden has done a good job fighting inflation.

Only 41 % of Americans approve of his handling of the economy. Only 40 % of American citizens believe Biden is doing a good job on foreign affairs, and the Hamas Israel war. 66 % of Americans disapproved of Biden handling of the border and immigration, including 40% of Hispanic and 50% of African-Americans.

Some 47 % of the citizens in our Land of the Free and Home of the Brave believe President Biden is responsible for interest rates rising in the last three years.

The Biden administration’s foreign policy team has allowed an alliance between China, Russia and Iran to arise and threaten the free world including our land of the Pilgrims Pride.

Many Americans believe he is using the Justice Department to unfairly persecute former President Trump.

The principal tenant of his presidential campaign was he was going to bring us, that is spelled UNITES STATES together. Unfortunately that has not been the way he has governed and Americans are more split today than ever.

And a final point about President Biden, mostly personal, For his 40 years in Washington, he supported the Hyde amendment, when he announced his campaign for president he also with drew his support of the Hyde amendment.

To me that demonstrated his lack of character and conviction. One or two last things about President Biden our horrendous withdrawal from Afghanistan giving our adversaries the impression that the Biden administration was weak and would permit China, Russia, and Iran to take advantage of us. And his snail’s pace of supplying advanced weapons to Ukraine, probably prolonging that war.

And now, to former President Donald Trump who incited an insurrection on January 6 to stay in office illegally and against the will of a majority of American voters.

Trump turned a group of his peaceful supporters into a violent mob that attacked the US Capitol by his extremely radical and inflammatory oratory, ”STOP THE STEAL.”

Trump used his office and the platform it gave him to intimidate witnesses, bully people, and spread this information.

Many of President Trump’s comments debased the public debate on international issues, very important to the success of the United States of America.

Trump also fanned the flames of the existing divisions in our nation, thereby driving us further and further apart. He damaged public health in our Republic by downplaying the risk of Covid nineteen at times and promoting unproven treatments, resulting in chaos and confusion amongst many Americans.

Former Pres. Trump according to many credible sources tried to use the FBI and the Justice Department to harass his critics and his political opponents. He also leaned on those two entities to protect himself and his friends and supporters.

President Trump though the Justice Department should serve his needs and not the national interest. It was said that President Bill Clinton abused the pardons process, but President Trump’s abusing the process made President Clinton’s pardons look trivial.

There are many other abuses of power that Pres. Trump initiated and participated in as president.

I find President Trump to be a reprehensible character and a disgrace to the office of President of the United States. I did not vote for him either time he ran for president, and I am proud I did not.

I hope and pray God will give us some different candidates who can save our public and truly serve the American people.
