Right from the Middle: The basic principles of positive Americanism

What are the principles of positive Americanism? Former Congressman and “Two Guys on Politics” podcaster Bill Lipinski discusses them in his twice monthly Op-Ed.

In honor of the 4th of July I would like to state my principles of positive Americanism. Believe in God and practice what he taught us.

Practice the Golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Seek, discover, and practice the following qualities of character.

Dedication to God, family, and to America. Strength in the physical and mental ability in hard times to stay true to one’s self.

Courage, or having the ability to overcome being anxious and afraid to do the right thing for God and Country.

Embrace bold new thinking and ideas for the benefit of mankind.

Wisdom, or having the experience, knowledge, and good judgement to say and do what is right and what is just, before God and country.

Integrity, or being honest at all times and having a firm adherence to a unbreakable religious and patriotic code.

Charity, as an individual, giving help and or money to those in need temporarily or permanently.

Patience, the capacity to accept and tolerate delay without getting upset or angry or giving up on a task that once completed successfully would improve an individual, community and or a nation spiritually, mentally and physically.

Discipline, having the ability to control oneself mentally and physically, for one’s own benefit and the benefit of all mankind.

And, finally initiative, the ability to assess and start independently to resolve a difficult situation and enthusiasm to arouse intense and eager support in one’s self and others to accomplish a difficult mission.

Positive thinking Americans believe in individualism and personal responsibility. They ask how can I help my family, my church, my neighborhood, my fellowman, my country and how I can improve myself.

Positive thinking Americans strive for achievement every day, achievement that will improve civilization and mankind.

Never lose your faith in this Land of Liberty; its problems, faults, and challenges are all America’s responsibilities to correct as quickly as possible.

Do not allow our disputes and differences to rip us apart; never forget this is One Nation Under God with Liberty, and Justice and Opportunity for all.

From our differences we must gain strength to become that perfect union the founding fathers talked about and truly believed would materialize.

The founding fathers believed this can only take place with hard work, perseverance and the help of God.

We must remember all-Americans were created by God and to give them the respect and dignity they deserve as children of God.

Remember the United States of America is the greatest country on this earth only WE THE PEOPLE can make it better.

It’s up to each and every one of us to do our best to make it greater.
