Orland Township Seniors celebrate Valentine’s Day
Love was in the air this month for township seniors.
Over the course of a week, a total of nearly 150 seniors attended two separate Valentine’s Day events held by Orland Township. Even with the dreary winter weather and sudden snowstorms, seniors were adamant about being at the Township’s February Luncheon and Valentine’s Dinner Dance.
On Thursday, February 10, residents were provided a delicious meal from Rocco Vino’s Italian Restaurant at the February Luncheon. The menu included mostaccioli, garlic bread, sausage and peppers, and house salad.
Blake Alexander performed music from beloved artists like Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé. Attendees also had the opportunity to compete for table centerpieces, used as prizes for those who were brave enough to perform an a cappella love song of their choosing in front of the room.
Just a week later, February 17, The Michael Walters Band wowed guests as they danced the night away at the Valentine’s Dinner Dance! At the Orland Chateau, guests enjoyed a delicious meal before listening to the band perform a wide variety of music, featuring fan favorite songs from Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, and Etta James.
“I love coming to these events at Orland Township, because it’s a great way to meet so many new and friendly people! Not to mention the great food and entertainment.” Said resident Joan Groff. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world. You miss out on so much if you don’t come!”
