Ken Getty celebrates his 80th birthday

Ken Getty, a longtime Southwest suburban activist, insurance company founder and former Lyons Mayor, celebrated his 80th birthday June 6, 2021 with friends and family at an outdoor picnic celebration.

Getty, the father of Village ofd Lyons President Christopher Getty, is admired throughout the region for his leadership and his concern for residents. He is the owner of Getty Insurance Agency located in Lyons.

Getty’s son, Christopher, was elected to historic fourth term in office overseeing a wide range of community improvements, expansion of parks, management of the village finances, and support of local schools.

Getty was celebrated by several hundred family, friends and officials.
