New DMV+ Keeps Essential Services Close to Home in Orland Park
The appointment-only Orland Hills facility opens Nov. 9 next to Hallmark in the Walmart plaza. The Village recognizes CTF Illinois for providing temporary space and helping maintain uninterrupted access to essential services after the newly elected Orland Township Board abruptly ended the prior lease. Appointments can be scheduled at ilsos.gov by selecting “Schedule a DMV Appointment.”
The Village of Orland Park is pleased to announce that the Illinois Secretary of State Drivers Facility serving the Orland Park area is moving from its temporary home at CTF Illinois to the new Orland Hills DMV+ at 9291 159th St. in Orland Hills.
The new facility, located next to the Hallmark store in the Walmart plaza, will open Monday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m.
In 2025, after the newly elected majority of the Orland Township Board abruptly canceled the Drivers Facility lease agreement, the Secretary of State’s Office had to act quickly to prevent a significant interruption in service for area residents.
CTF Illinois immediately stepped forward and offered temporary office space at no charge, allowing the Drivers Facility to remain in the community while a new location was found.

The Village again extends its sincere appreciation to CTF Illinois for responding at a critical moment and helping preserve access for seniors, people with disabilities and other residents who depend on these essential services. CTF Illinois is a nonprofit organization that creates pathways toward independence, a higher quality of life and economic prosperity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The temporary facility at 18230 Orland Parkway will close permanently on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m. After opening day, regular hours at the Orland Hills location will begin Monday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. Regular hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The new facility will offer a full range of Secretary of State services, including driver’s license and state IDs, REAL ID, road tests, vehicle registration renewals, license plate renewals and replacement stickers. Services are by appointment only, and appointments can be scheduled at ilsos.gov by selecting “Schedule a DMV Appointment.” License plate stickers and disability parking placards are available on a walk-in basis and do not require an appointment.
The new Orland Hills DMV+ keeps these services close and convenient for Orland Park residents with easy access from 159th Street and nearby shopping, dining and other services.
“Keeping these essential services close to home has been our priority from the beginning,” Mayor Jim Dodge said. “We are grateful to Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias and State Senator Michael E. Hastings for helping secure the new location. Most of all, we thank CTF Illinois for stepping up immediately when the prior site was taken away and giving the Drivers Facility a temporary home at no charge. Their generosity ensured that residents, especially seniors and other vulnerable members of our community, did not lose local access to these vital services.”
The Village of Orland Park appreciates the partnership that made the temporary facility possible and the continued collaboration that established the new Orland Hills location to the community.
