Orland Park Police Department announces enforcement results
The Orland Park Police Department today released the results of its enhanced traffic enforcement efforts conducted through the federal fiscal year 2026 Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program.
These efforts, carried out between Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026, were designed to reduce crashes and save lives on Illinois roadways.
During the last Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) traffic enforcement period, Orland Park Police Officers issued a total of 20 citations.
For the 2026 Fiscal Year, the Orland Park Police completed traffic enforcement details for various holidays and special distracted driving and speed enforcement campaigns.

The enforcement resulted in:
- 1599 citations
- 3 DUI arrests
- 78 other arrests
These efforts were part of high-visibility traffic safety campaigns such as “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,”“Click It or Ticket” and “Drive High. Get a DUI”.
By focusing on the most dangerous driving behaviors – including impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving and failure to wear seat belts – Orland Park Police worked to keep roadways safe and prevent serious crashes.
The STEP grant was funded with federal highway safety funds and administered by IDOT as part of a statewide effort to improve traffic safety and reduce fatalities.
