When dad called Leving, he was frustrated and under serious financial strain. He reported that despite a clear court order, the mother continued to ignore her responsibilities.
Concerned that her actions were deliberate and causing ongoing hardship for both him and his son, dad fought for his son. The Leving team provided dad with the support he needed to take action.
They moved decisively to file a petition to hold the mother in contempt of court to move the case in the right direction toward victory. Failure was not an option.
The evidence was clear to Leving: the mother had not only reportedly failed to pay child support but also refused to reimburse her share of essential expenses. Her actions appeared harmful to both dad and his son.
In court, the Leving team demonstrated a clear and ongoing pattern of noncompliance and argued that her conduct rose to the level of contempt. The judge agreed.
The mother was found in indirect civil contempt for failing to meet her obligations and was ordered to pay the full amount of her outstanding child support arrearages and expenses, and to continue paying future child support and expenses.
This court victory modified for publication was much more than enforcing financial obligations — it was about protecting a child’s well-being and future and ensuring that a loving father receives the resources needed to raise his son in a financially stable and secure environment.
Thanks to the Leving team’s strategic arguments and persistence, a little boy will now have the support he needs and both dad and his son have the justice they deserve.
