Orland Township to Host Senior Luncheons

Tickets go on sale Nov. 4 for Orland Townships popular Thanksgiving luncheon in mid-November hosted by Supervisor Paul O’Grady whose senior services have been showcased as among the best in the Southwest suburbs

Orland Township’s popular senior luncheons are returning, starting with the Thanksgiving luncheon in mid-November followed by the holiday luncheon in early December, according to the office of Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.

The format, location and capacity limits will change, due to pandemic social distancing requirements and masks will be required when guests are away from their tables and not eating or drinking.

Both luncheons will be held at the Orland Chateau, 14500 S. LaGrange Rd., Orland Park and will feature plated meals that include soup, salad and entertainment.

The November luncheon will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19 and will consist of a plated, traditional turkey feast and feature the entertainment of local singer Blake Alexander. A performer since childhood, Alexander’s shows cover a range from Frank Sinatra to Maroon 5 and everything in between.

A plated roast beef meal will be served at December’s luncheon, which will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3. Local crooner Nino Folino will entertain guests with his renditions of the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and more.

“Our luncheons are a popular social activity for our seniors,” said Supervisor O’Grady. “We are happy to be able to host them again, following CDC guidelines, and provide an afternoon of socializing and entertainment after this long and difficult year.”

Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady and Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the driver services facility in the Orland Township Building, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park. Also attending the ribbon cutting were (from left): Orland Township Trustee Antonio Rubino, Orland Township Trustee John Lynch, Senator Bill Cunningham (D-Chicago), Orland Township Assessor Rich Kelly and Senator Michael Hastings (D-Frankfort).
