Court terminated critically injured man’s maintenance payments to ex-wife

Divorce, even if it is an amicable one, is a difficult and emotionally complex life event. In many cases, the parties involved often seek to protect themselves financially or seek financial compensation from their soon-to-be ex.
In a divorce, one spouse can be ordered to pay the other maintenance, which was formerly called alimony, especially if one divorcing spouse earns a significantly greater income than the other.
An ex-husband found himself in a situation where he was at risk of financial ruin, and he desperately needed help.
