Help for fathers now available at Little Free Libraries

Three books providing practical information and encouragement for single and divorced fathers are now turning up in Little Free Library locations around Chicago.

Attorney Jeffery M. Leving, a trailblazer in helping fathers stay involved with their children after a divorce or breakup with the mother, is the author of the three books: The landmark Fathers’ Rights, published in English, Spanish and Chinese; Divorce Wars; and How to be a Good Divorced Dad, the latter of which was endorsed by President Obama and by Cardinal Francis George, the late archbishop of Chicago.

These books are available in bookstores, online, and at many public libraries in Chicago and the suburbs.

“Now I’m taking a further step to get these books into the hands of fathers and educators who would benefit from reading them,” says Leving, founder and president of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd., located at 19 S. LaSalle St. in Chicago.

“Many have been helped by reading these books, and I want them to be as available as possible to dads who are divorced, separated, or for whom divorce or separation are coming, because I don’t want these dedicated dads to lose their children – and I don’t want their children to lose their fathers,” Leving says.

Little Free Libraries are neighborhood book exchanges, typically located in a wooden box along the sidewalk. There are more than 150,000 of them, located in 120 countries. Borrowers take a book, read it, and bring it back, just like the public library, except there’s no library card needed, and the outdoor locations are accessible at all times.
