Cicero to host Arts & Crafts Fair in May, vendor applications  are now available

Cicero accepting applications through May 5 for arts and craft fair vendors. The fair will be held during two weekends on May 19 and 20, and May 26 and 27

Town President Larry Dominick announced this week that the Town of Cicero will host an Arts and Crafts “Cicero Artisan Market” on two weekends in May.

The “Cicero Artisan Market” will be held on the weekends of May 19 and 20, and May 26 and 27, at the Cicero Community Park at 34th and Laramie Avenue.

The “Cicero Artisan Market” is the creation of Senior Center Director Diana Dominick, who explained that many seniors had asked about replicating the art fairs that many other communities host.

“There is a lot of enthusiasm from Seniors and many other members of the community to have this event,” said Mrs. Dominick.

“We expect many arts and crafts participants to showcase their works there and I know that many of our residents will enjoy browsing and being able to purchase these unique items.”

 

Mrs. Dominick said that businesses or individuals interested in showcasing their arts and crafts talents at the “Cicero Artisan Market” should go to the Town of Cicero Website and download the “2023 Vendor Application”, which must be completed and returned to the Town by May 5.

Vendors may select between one or both weekends to display. The application defines restrictions depending on the products that can be sold.

“We really expect this event to grow as the years go on because the popularity of arts and crafts shows is so high among the public,” Mrs. Dominick said.

Attendance is free to the public. Parking is also free for both shoppers & vendors. Vendors must pay a $100 for each weekend attended.

Cicero organizará la Feria de Artes y Oficios en mayo

El Presidente municipal Larry Dominick, anunció esta semana que el municipio de Cicero auspiciará un “Mercado Artesanal de Cicero” de artes y manualidades durante dos fines de semana en el mes de mayo.

El “Mercado Artesanal de Cicero” se llevará a cabo los fines de semana del 19 y 20 de mayo y el siguiente, durante los dias 26 y 27 de mayo, en el Predio Comunitario para las  Ferias de Cicero.

El “Mercado Artesanal de Cicero” es una creación de la Directora del ‘Centro para Adultos Mayores’ Diana Dominick, quien explicó que muchos adultos mayores habían preguntado acerca de la posibilidad de replicar o sea de recrear, las ferias de arte que organizan muchas otras comunidades.

“Hay mucho entusiasmo por parte de las personas mayores y muchos otros miembros de la comunidad para tener este evento”, dijo la Sra. Dominick.

“Esperamos que muchos participantes en esta exposición de artes y manualidades muestren sus trabajos allí y sé que muchos de nuestros residentes disfrutarán de su visita para curiosear y quizá comprar algunos de estos artículos únicos”.

La Sra. Dominick agregó que las empresas o las personas interesadas en exhibir sus talentos artísticos y artesanales en el “Mercado Artesanal de Cicero”, pueden entrar al sitio web del municipio de Cicero y descargar la “Solicitud de Proveedor 2023”, que debe completarse y devolverse a la ciudad antes del 5 de Mayo.

Los proveedores pueden seleccionar entre uno o ambos fines de semana para mostrar sus articulos. La solicitud define las restricciones en función, dependiendo de los productos que se pueden vender.

“Realmente esperamos que este evento crezca a medida que pasan los años porque la popularidad de estos espectáculos de artes, manualidades y artesanias es muy alta entre el público”, dijo la Sra. Dominick.

La asistencia es gratuita para el público. El estacionamiento también es gratuito para compradores y vendedores. Los vendedores deben pagar $100 por cada fin de semana al que asistan.
