Congressman Bill Foster thanks voters for their support
U.S. Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) thanked voters for their support in a statement released on Wednesday following the results of the Illinois Democratic Primary election June 28, 2022.
“Serving the people of the 11th District of Illinois is the honor of a lifetime, and I am proud to seek reelection as their voice in Congress. This is a unique moment in American history.
“Our economy continues to recover from the shock of the pandemic, but we need to do more to address rising costs that are hurting hard-working families.
“As someone with a depth of experience in both science and business, I know the perspective I bring to debates in Washington is essential for implementing policies that are practical and effective.”
“We’re facing a Republican Party that is becoming more extreme and more interested in instituting an agenda of control – controlling the personal health care decisions of women and casting doubt on free and fair elections instead of focusing on the issues facing working families in Illinois.
“Over the past few months, I’ve spent considerable time traveling throughout the new 11th District, listening to the hopes and concerns of voters from Bolingbrook to Woodstock and everywhere in between. One thing is clear: the overwhelming majority of voters in our communities want leaders who are committed to working across party lines to solve problems and strengthen our nation.
“I will always stand up for science-driven solutions to the challenges we face. I will always fight for practical policies that will benefit all Americans, not just those at the top. I’ve never been prouder to represent this district, and it’s because of the people who call it home. I look forward to making the case directly to them, and most importantly, asking for their vote.”
