DuPage County Board member Lynn LaPlante endorses Ruzevich for Illinois 6th Congress District in March 17, 2026 Democratic Primary
Elected official Lynn LaPlante, Dupage County Board Member, announced her endorsement for Joseph “Joey” Ruzevich for the Illinois 6th congressional district.
Lynn believes “Joey is a part of the new generation of leadership ready and willing to step up and challenge the status quo.
As an expert in technology, he is well aware of the environmental hazards from data centers and AI, and puts his subject matter expertise to work regulating safety and affordability issues within tech.
Joey has already demonstrated that he’s focused on connecting with ALL constituents of District 6, rather than focusing on special interest groups that write big checks.

He is the moral leader in Congress we need right now, and a true representative of the average American.”
Joseph “Joey” Ruzevich expressed deep appreciation for the endorsement. “Lynn LaPlante’s endorsement is a tremendous honor,” said Ruzevich. “Her commitment to community, creativity, and honest leadership reflects the same vision I have for bringing accountability and forward thinking solutions to Illinois’ 6th District. I look forward to working alongside her to champion policies that support working families, protect our communities, and ensure that everyone, not just the well connected, has a voice in shaping our future.”

About Joseph “Joey” Ruzevich:
Joey grew up in Chicago’s southwest suburbs, graduated from Brother Rice, attended Moraine Valley Community College, and earned a Computer Science degree from Loyola University New Orleans on an athletic scholarship. After two years playing professional basketball in Europe, he returned to Illinois, built a career as a software engineer, and now owns a mobile application development small business. His career has shown him the power of innovation alongside the challenges of monopolies and affordability, experiences that will drive his campaign to restore the American Dream in the Illinois’ 6th District.
Through his community outreach, Ruzevich found Congressman Casten is disconnected from his constituents’ needs. Ruzevich’s campaign will address the affordability crisis, break up big tech and other monopolies, revitalize the American Dream, end the endless war machine, and champion justice & human rights. Ruzevich refuses corporate PAC and AIPAC money, ensuring his freedom from donor control, which allows him to implement concrete solutions for the working families of Illinois’ 6th District.
