Jiang Niu BBQ House in Orland Park, offers great food in a fun way
By Ray Hanania
Jiang Niu BBQ House in Orland Park, 14651 S La Grange Road, has a fantastic menu with a great tasting Korean Chinese fusion food menu. But it goes one step further offering a fun way to enjoy it allowing you to barbecue your order right at your table.
You can either order a meal off of the standard menu, or, you can order the “all you can eat” option which I recommend.
Every food item is ordered by you from your table using a table Menu iPad, and sent to the kitchen. It’s delivered almost immediately to your table and you cook them on a barbecue that is in the center of the table with three levels of flames 1, highest, to 3, lowest.
It’s perfect for families because the barbecue-your-own-food can be a slow process and that’s healthier and more fun for families or couples.
I am not a Tofu person, but their Tofu salad, Sichuan Peppercorn Dried Tofu Salad, tastes so good it’s become one of my favorite Asian salads and I am going to have to go back and enjoy it again.
The menu includes everything you could want in main dish options including steak (several types), chicken, pork, lamb and Tilapia, and a wide array of great side dishes from soups to salads.
You order the chicken or the steak and they bring it on a little plate and you place it on the grill right in front of you. The flame is high enough but not so hot that it becomes uncomfortable. The flames are perfect and you can reduce them between cooking menu items.
The “all you can eat” option is $36.99 per person but it is recommended because you can try everything. And you will want to try everything.
The wait crew is so polite and the food is delivered quickly by a robot accompanied by a staff member making it even more fun to watch.
The spices are on the table including sesame seed oil, soy sauce and more.
Jiang Niu promotes itself writing on their website, “We proudly offer a wide array of Dongbei-style BBQ dishes, a unique Korean-influenced Chinese BBQ, aka Korean Chinese Fusion BBQ. Our BBQ is freshly prepared in-house, which is more authentic than food from pre-packaged marinades you buy at the store. We’ve got something for everyone – from sweet to spicy, and even vegetarian options. You can’t go wrong with our all-you-can-eat option!”
One of my favorite menu items is the sliced pineapple which I love to grill there and at home when I can.
Besides the tofu salad and the pineapple that I grilled, I ordered the Tilapia, chicken and steak. The portions are not gigantic and you can order several times, grilling them and enjoying the meal slowly having fun with the family.

I highly recommend this restaurant, not just for the great tasting food, but for the fun we had cooking the food items on the table grille and watching the robot deliver the food items.
