Father with troubled past gains full parenting time

By Laura Reichel

A Chicago father with a problematic past, was being kept from his son. He drank a little too much back in the day, and he had a criminal record. When he and his wife separated, he initially had limited contact with his grade school-age son, but his past difficulties were used against him by the mother who, according to court documents, reduced the time he could spend with his son and required the visits to be monitored by a supervisor.
This complex case will be discussed on the weekly radio show, the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CDT Saturday, June 15th on Power 92.3 FM and available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour Spotify page on dadsrights.com.
Feeling boxed in and devastated, fearing being cut out of his son’s life completely, this Dad was nearly hopeless – but he found the strength to call the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. The Leving team assured Dad that he had come to the right place and fiercely litigated this father’s case.
This was a tough case. It can be hard to convince a judge that a man with a troubled past like this has overcome it. Sometimes there’s a tendency to want to punish ex-offenders forever. But the Leving legal team went to court to fight for Dad. They proved that Dad had resolved his criminal matter, and never presented any threat to the child, so he should be allowed full parenting time with his son – and a real relationship, with no supervision. No monitoring.

The judge agreed. His order gave Dad full, unrestricted, unsupervised parenting time with his son. Dad won.
“This important court victory, modified for broadcast, left this Dad overjoyed and brought together a father and son who had been kept apart – for far too long. They’ll both do better together,” said Attorney Jeffery M. Leving.
