Tinley man charged after accidentally shooting friend
Robert A. Cannon, 18, of 84th and Brookpoint Court in Tinley Park was charged on Oct. 28, 2020 with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and reckless conduct after accidentally shooting his friend in the face with a handgun Oct. 25 at his home.
Police responded to the home at 12:06 a.m. after the homeowner called to report his son had accidentally shot his friend, who was found in the bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the face.
The friend was transported to Silver Cross Hospital and transferred to Loyola University Medical Center for treatment. He is in critical but stable condition.

Police said Cannon, along with several of his friends, were hanging out in a bedroom when Cannon pointed what he thought was an unloaded gun at his friend and fired one round.
Cannon was booked into Will County Circuit Court. Bond has been set at $10,000.
