Taco Village Bar and Grill Restaurant in Des Plaines is giving away one face mask to each customer when they make a purchase of $20 or more.
Owner Maria “Mary Lou” Marquez said that many customers are accustomed now to wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing and safeguarding their health.
“I have received so much feedback from customers and the biggest concern is that even the most protective face masks are only good for a set period of usage,” Marquez said.
“I felt that giving away the masks is not only a way to help the public but to also thank my customers for being so loyal and supportive during these difficult times in this coronavirus pandemic.”
Marquez said Taco Village has been hit very hard like many businesses but has been forced to adapt to the new reality.
“We offer our food menu service by order either by telephone or online, and through many of the popular online food ordering applications like GrubHub and DoorDash to name only a few,” Marquez said.
“Taco Village offers catering to include either safe, efficient deliver or customer pickup. We maintain strict social distancing and cleanliness procedures to ensure everyone’s safety, for the public and for our employees.”
Marquez said she will begin distribution of the face masks beginning Thursday, July 2, until the face mask stocks are depleted.
“But if this is successful, I will do it again,” Marquez said.
“I think the public is looking for leadership from their business community and strengthening that bond between customer and store is important to all of us. We are proud of the food service we offer and the great taste and high quality of our food.”
Taco Village Bar and Grill is located at 1590 Rand Road in Des Plaines.
It features a full menu selection of authentic and great tasting Mexican Food, including the popular “El Jefe Burrito.”
