Leving Team Protected Dad’s Liberty and Preserved His Place in His Children’s Lives

A desperate Chicago dad found himself living a horrible nightmare. His ex had filed a Petition for an Emergency Order of Protection against him, taken his children away, and left him facing the terrifying possibility of incarceration.
He didn’t want to go to jail. Terrified of losing what he held most dear, dad immediately called Chicago attorney and fathers’ rights advocate Jeffery M. Leving for help in protecting his children.

This nightmare began after dad took his daughters to the hospital because he feared that they had been exposed to marijuana while in the mother’s care. Furious, the children’s mother abruptly cut dad off from his own daughters, ignoring dad’s court-ordered parenting time. Dad, who had every right to be with his daughters, was devastated – he loved his girls deeply, and being unable to see them and protect them was heartbreaking.
Things only grew worse after it was reported that the mother had filed a Petition for an Emergency Order of Protection against dad, who feared that he would lose his children and now, his freedom too. If the Order of Protection was entered, a violation of it would be a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to 1 year in jail in Illinois.
On the verge of losing all hope, dad turned to attorney Jeffery Leving for help. He was assured that the Leving legal team would fight for him and his children, giving him the strength and fortitude he so desperately needed.
The Leving legal team knew time was critical. They acted decisively and presented a masterful and persuasive motion to strike the mother’s Petition for an Order of Protection and dismiss the entire case. The judge agreed with their arguments and justice was served – the Petition against this dad was stricken and the case was dismissed. They won. Dad can now focus on being there for his daughters without fear of being thrown into jail.
This was a crucial court victory modified for publication that preserved a father’s freedom and protected his right to be with his daughters. Without the fear of being jailed, dad can continue to focus on being a loving father to his daughters.
