Right from the Middle: Extremist political views challenge the religious freedoms of Americans

Extremists in American politics are undermining this great nation in order to pursue their own agendas which challenge the fundamental principles defined by the U.S. Constitution and the spirit of Americanism

The anti-America political movement whose policies will destroy our way of life, the American way, have come up with a few new issue to divide us.

The other day on the radio I heard a law professor from a prestigious Eastern law school make the following statement: “The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution where written by a very small group of narrow minded, bigoted, slave-owning Christian White men.”

These bias documents have permitted White men to keep their jackboots on the throat of women and people of color for decades, critics have argued.

Their code of male White supremacy has controlled this nation since its founding, they assert.

Needless to say, there’s much in that statement that I cannot agree with. In fact, I probably agree with none of it. And as an American, I find it to be offensive.

But the issue is being spread throughout the mainstream news media, talk television and on social media.

I read similar statements made by several columnists and radio and TV commentators and talk show hosts all within days of this professor’s remarks.

The next issue this extremist anti-American movement is using to divide Americans is education.

With rulings of the United States Supreme Court permitting the use of taxes to help fund religious schools, those opposed are brutally and fiercely attacking those decisions and religious schools.

The dividers of America are saying that the religious decisions of the court are part of the radical agenda of the European American Christian White males’ drive to return our Land of Liberty to the 1950’s.

This anti-American political movement falsely cries out hysterically that these educational decisions by the Supreme Court are an attempt to make this nation once again a nation controlled by the White supremacists to make this, once again, a White Christian European nation.

These unAmerican voices assert that religious schools are not charged with promoting democratic values or a common American identity.

These purveyors of anti-Americanism claim that religious schools foster discrimination and segregation.

They also say religious schools siphon money from public education.

One Supreme Court Justice, who opposes funding for religious schools, has stated repeatedly there is no law representing a right to fund religious schools.

Another Supreme Court Justice has said giving taxpayers money to religious schools amounts to subsidizing the indoctrination of a religion.

I know this is a very aggressive column to confront these claims. But, I feel these views are shocking.  I am shocked to hear and read these things being said about our founding fathers and religious education.

And they are said with very little pushback in the mainstream news media and commentators.

In this country. I hope and pray that we can educate our fellow Americans to what the truth actually is, and correct these terribly inaccurate statements.
