Sandoval attends ribbon-cutting for Pace paratransit headquarters
State Senator Martin Sandoval (D-Chicago), Chairman of the Illinois Senate’s Transportation Committee, joined several local officials last week to celebrate the completion of Pace’s new Chicago ADA Paratransit headquarters in conjunction with the United Nation’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Sandoval spoke at the event and took part in a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
The office’s layout enhances efficiency, encourages collaboration and reinforces Pace’s focus on accessibility. The well-lit 15,500-square-foot space includes 38 80-square-foot cubicles and private offices, three conference rooms, a 50-person training room and a command center for emergency management.
“I’m honored to be a part of increasing accessibility so that all of our residents can take advantage of public transportation,” Sandoval said. “This new facility is a testament to our dedication to this effort.”
Real-time information screens throughout the office help Pace better monitor service and share information with team members.
“Our paratransit employees deserve the best facilities and the best tools, so they can do their best to serve Chicagoans with disabilities,” Sandoval said.
Sandoval believes quality public transportation is critical to the independence of people with disabilities and their ability to contribute economically, socially, and politically.
“Pace’s new headquarters empowers employees to serve those with special needs,” he said.
