Dad and his ex were never married but have a ten-year-old son together. However, when his ex filed for and was granted an Emergency Order of Protection against dad, he was devastated. In an instant, he was barred from seeing or even contacting his only child. Then, the situation became even more frightening: the mother alleged that dad had violated the Emergency Order of Protection. This was a serious matter as violating an Order of Protection is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail in Illinois.
Terrified, dad immediately called attorney Leving for an emergency consultation. Leving assured dad that the Leving legal team were experienced in this type of situation and that they would fight for him.
Knowing every moment counted, the Leving legal team swiftly initiated discovery and built a strong defense. They argued before the judge that the entire case depended only on the sole testimony from a third party who was not even interested in testifying against dad. They won. The judge ruled in dad’s favor, preserving this father’s freedom and restoring his hope for a bright future.
This court victory modified for publication not only protected this father’s liberty but also served as a reminder that justice can prevail even in the most difficult moments when fathers fear losing everything. Every victory like this strengthens the Leving team’s mission to defend fathers, protect families, and restore hope for all those who come to them for help.
