After Mother’s Death, Child Finds Safety in Dad’s Home

By Laura Reichel

A desperate father called the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. for help after his late ex’s relatives refused to return his son to him after the mother’s tragic death.

The Leving legal team fought to reunite dad and his son and won, ensuring that this little boy didn’t lose his only surviving parent.

Chicago based matrimonial attorney Jeffery Leving, President of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd., will talk about this important case victory and more on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CST Saturday, December 27th on Power 92.3 FM.

This show segment will be available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour’s Spotify page on dadsrights.com.

Dad’s little boy grieved the loss of his mother, who tragically died at a young age. The boy then lived with his dad, who provided a stable and comforting home for his child. Dad, wanting what was best for his son, arranged for him to spend time with his late mother’s extended family. However, dad reported that soon afterward, the mother’s family refused to return his child.

Dad feared losing his son forever. He turned to attorney Jeffery M. Leving for the help he so desperately needed. Leving reassured dad that the Leving legal team would fight for him and his son and they did.

The Leving legal team immediately sprang into action. They filed an emergency motion asking that the judge order the child be returned to dad and live with him permanently. The law firm’s detective provided critical investigative services. The Leving legal team went to court, argued the case with passion and urgency, and won. The judge ordered that the little boy be returned to live with his dad permanently. Dad was overjoyed to be reunited with his son.

This court victory modified for publication righted what could’ve been a grave injustice. Dad no longer has to fear losing his son and this little boy was no longer at risk of losing his dad.

On a final note, attorney Jeffery Leving will be a guest speaker at the 2025 Bronzeville Kwanzaa Celebration at 12 p.m. CST on Saturday, December 27th. This family centered event celebrating the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa is proudly being co-sponsored by the Fatherhood Educational Institute, a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to helping fathers and their children everywhere.

Matrimonial attorney Jeffery M. Leving is the recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe R. Biden, Jr. in recognition of 7,500 hours of Leving’s service to this nation. Leving is also the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President George W. Bush. Leving is a nationally recognized matrimonial and family law attorney.
