Orland Fire District responds to home fire, no injuries
The Orland Fire Protection District (OFPD) responded to a structure fire call at 6:30 AM, Saturday, August 2, 2025, located at the 15600 Block of 112th Court in Orland Park.
On arrival, OFPD Engine Company #3 reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the home.
Firefighters immediately responded upon arriving at the fire scene. An offensive strategy was announced, and a hoseline was deployed for fire attack. Battalion 6 responded and upgraded the alarm. Crews were able to direct a hose line onto the fire and quickly obtained an all-clear for occupants of the property.
Ventilation holes were cut in the roof. The fire was extinguished shortly after.
The single occupant of the residence made it safely out of the structure without injury and the pets were removed by the homeowner prior to arrival.
There are no reports of injuries to fire personnel.
“The quick response of our Firefighters to the fire scene helped to ensure no one was injured and the fire did not spread further,” Interim Fire Chief John Purtill said.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation and is yet to be determined.”
Orland Fire was assisted at the scene by Tinley Fire, Palos Fire, Oak Forest Fire, Homer Fire, Northwest Homer Fire Mokena Fire, and Frankfort Fire.
Mutual aid fire departments also provided station coverage while Orland Fire crews were committed to the scene.
