Lyons Mayor Chris Getty Hosts Town Hall meeting with Congressman Garcia and local officials
Lyons Mayor Christopher Getty hosted a Town Hall meeting featuring Congressman Jesus “Chuy” Garcia along promising that they would work together to continue to bring state funding to support resident needs.
Also attending the event were State Rep. Lisa Hernandez, State Senator Javier Cervantes, Cook County Commissioner Frank Aguilar, and other local and regional community leaders. Over 200 residents attend the Town Hall meeting at the Village of Lyons community room on August 15, 2023.
“It was an honor to host a Town Hall Meeting at our Village Hall last night,” Getty said.
“Over 200 area residents were in attendance as Mayor Chris Getty welcomed Congressman Jesus Garcia, State Senator Javier Cervantes, State Representative Lisa Hernandez, and many local elected officials to engage in meaningful discussions with residents. It was an excellent opportunity to continue the Village’s dedication to open dialogue and the betterment of our community.”
Aguilar, who opened his county office in Lyons, also informed residents during his remarks that he was pursuing countywide legislation to grant tex exemptions to residents who suffer damage during local flooding.
Residents queried the officials on a range of issues from grant funding, flooding and street and alley repairs.
