Support The Orland Township Food Pantry With ‘Pack-A-Backpack’
Orland Township Food Pantry seeking “Back Pack” donations for ‘Pack-A-Backpack’ program to provide low-income Orland Township resident children with much needed school supplies.
When you’re struggling to feed your family or afford a roof over their heads, school supplies don’t always make the list. That’s why the Orland Township Food Pantry is asking the community to come together and ‘Pack-A-Backpack!
Items like backpacks, art supplies, and writing tools are essential to prepare children mentally, emotionally, and physically for school.
New backpacks and new supplies give children a sense of security and excitement as they begin the school year. With this assistance, parents can focus on rent and groceries instead of facing the stress of school-related expenses.
In addition to the program, Orland Township will also host a Back-to-School Health Fair on Aug. 20.
The event is open to all Orland Township residents as they partner with local schools, community organizations, and local medical centers to distribute care and compassion to students in need.
Pack-A-Backpack donations can provide low-income Orland Township resident children ranging from Kindergarten to High School with pencils, notebooks, backpacks and other supplies – giving all our local learners the same opportunity to achieve their potential.
A full list of suggested supplies for each grade level can be found at orlandtownship.org/btshf, along with a sign-up link to commit to donating.
