Woman and firefighter injured in Cicero apartment fire
A woman and a firefighter were injured in an apartment Fire at 1834 S51st Court in the Town of Cicero that was reported around 9 PM on Wednesday evening, March 16, 2022.
The fire was contained to the top unit of the 8 unit apartment building, fire officials said.
Firefighters rescued a 71 year old female from the building. She is intubated at Loyola with 3rd degree burns to her face, neck, and arms. Officials said the victim has burns to over 35 percent of her body and that she is in very serious condition.
One Cicero firefighter injured his arm and he was treated at West Suburban Hospital pending follow up medical visits.

All residents displaced from the apartment building found their own temporary accommodations for the night.
Cicero Fire investigators returned to the apartment building along with the State Fire Investigator to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
