Leving reflects on case saving little girl and analyzes pre-nuptial agreements
Nationally renowned matrimonial attorney Jeffery M. Leving has been fighting for fathers and “at risk” children for 40 years, accumulating many court victories.
“All of the cases I have litigated are important,” Leving said.
“They’re important to the dads and kids whose lives we’ve saved and reunited; they’re important to me fighting for social justice; and each victory adds to the growing recognition that fathers are parents too – that fathers and children should not be torn apart from each other just because a man’s relationship ends with his wife or girlfriend.”
On his radio program, the Dads Rights Legal Hour, Leving will talk about a gut-wrenching case saving a little girl. Tune in for more information. The program will air 9-10 a.m. CDT Saturday, Sept. 25, on Power 92.3 FM in Chicago.
Leving also will inform listeners about another topic: Pre-nuptial agreements. These are agreements that nail down, before marriage, a couple’s determination of how their assets would be divided in case there’s a divorce.
Even those who don’t consider themselves wealthy may have assets that they want to protect: A home that’s fully or nearly paid off, for example, or a pension or a 401(k) account.
“We can strategically plan to avoid a lot of drama and future headaches by negotiating and drafting a pre-nuptial agreement that complies with the law,” Leving said.
“We are very experienced in enforcing such agreements. We can also contest pre-nuptial agreements for our clients, in the case of a divorce, if, for example, the adverse party had assets that were kept secret from our client when the couple signed the pre-nup, or threatened our client to sign. Contemplating marriage and getting married are times of joy, but please don’t be blind to the need to protect your financial assets and your future.”
